Lifehouse Founder & Executive Director

Joan is the Founder and Executive Director of Lifehouse, Inc., a residential maternity home offering a full range of programs to young pregnant women -- the only home of its kind in Kentucky. Joan was the visionary founder and executive director of two other non-profit organizations, St. Elizabeth’s Regional Maternity Home in New Albany and Noah’s Ark Children’s Village in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

“I put my experiences to work,” explains Joan. “I was able to draw support from many individuals, businesses and organizations that shared a common vision. This enabled me to turn the vision into reality.”

Joan is a registered nurse and specialized in Labor & Delivery and Emergency Nursing. She and her husband, Jim, are members of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.

Becky Edmondson - Email Becky (502-417-1385)

Director of Development

Becky Edmondson is the Director of Development of The Lifehouse. She served as the Executive Director of A Woman’s Choice Resource Center from 1989 – 2008. During that time, she helped to oversee the development of the center from a suburban crisis pregnancy counseling center to a multifaceted ministry providing abortion alternatives and life support for women and children in Louisville's urban neighborhoods.

Throughout, Becky has relied on the assistance of a network of volunteers and staff, and the support of churches and donors, not just in Louisville but across the nation.

Becky is married to Jim, and they have a son and daughter, and three grandchildren.

Lifehouse is honored to have such professional and prestigious leaders of the community to serve as our Trustees. Each of these individuals bring valuable experience and insight to the table, and their dedication to the mission is commendable ... all for the ultimate benefit of Lifehouse residents, our women and their precious babies.
